Travel and tourism providers

If your business brings travellers to SA or the Riverland, here is some important information to share with your clients in booking confirmations or on your website.

Travelling to SA from interstate

The fruit, vegetable and plant material allowed into SA depends on where you are travelling from.

Use the quarantine bins at entry points to SA and know that you cannot hand over restricted items at the Yamba checkpoint. You will be fined if you arrive there with fruit and vegetables at risk of fruit fly.

Travelling to the Riverland from within SA

Fruit and vegetables at risk of fruit fly cannot travel with you into the Riverland – with or without a receipt.

Eat or dispose of restricted items before entering the Riverland or use the quarantine bins, which are all signposted in advance.

Leave home-grown fruit at home and buy local instead.

Fruit fly outbreaks in SA

Sometimes there are fruit fly outbreaks in Adelaide and other areas of SA.

All travellers should check the fruit fly outbreak map to know whether they are passing through an outbreak area and the restrictions that apply.
