Apple scones

Perfect your scones

Try these Country Women's Association scones with seasonal apple for extra bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet SACWA Lauke Scone Mix, 1 sachet
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, finely chopped
  • 80 g caster sugar
  • 230 mL water
  • plain flour for kneading

Method

  1. Heat oven to 210°C.
  2. Place all ingredients into a food processor with a dough function, mix for 3 minutes.
    • You can otherwise mix by hand in a bowl with a straight-bladed knife, then knead using plain flour until no longer sticky and dough is smooth.
  3. Place dough onto a floured mat, rest for 5 mins.
  4. Roll or press out dough to 2cm thick and cut into rounds.
  5. Place rounds closely together on a baking tray (use baking paper).
  6. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
  7. Enjoy warm with your favourite topping and cream or enjoy with a piece of camembert cheese.
